EdgeWater Estates

Preserving and Protecting Land Around EdgeWater Estates

EdgeWater Estates is more than just a place to call home; it’s a sanctuary for nature, and a community that places great importance on the protection and preservation of our environment.

Green space and parkland are an important part of our social fabric. Not only do these spaces help mitigate climate change impacts and provide shelter and habitat for local wildlife; they also help promote community interactions, can improve mental health, and support child and youth development.

When we at South Winds Development set out to create this space, we knew that we wanted to incorporate as much green space as possible. It’s why more than 30 percent of the site is parkland, with an extensive network of trails and a beautiful view of the Thames River and Komoka Provincial Park to the east. (Fun fact: Ontario is home to more than 11.5 million hectares of protected land!).

But we knew that we wanted to do more to protect the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Which is why, after several years of work, we have successfully donated 46 acres of land to the Municipality of Middlesex Centre for conservation and preservation.

The land, which lies to the immediate south and west of the EdgeWater Estates property, will ensure that generations to come will get to enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Come see for yourself the beauty and wonder of this remarkable community, and immerse yourself in a world of greenery.
